GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Blue Energy signed an agreement to develop a 2.5 GW power plant in Victoria, Texas. The project combines GE Vernova gas turbines with GVH BWRX-300 small modular reactors. This phase focuses on engineering design, licensing, and safety analysis.
The facility aims to meet rising electricity demand from artificial intelligence and data centers. Two GE Vernova gas turbines will provide 1 gigawatt of power by 2030. Up to five small modular reactors will add 1.5 gigawatts of capacity starting in 2032. Partners expect a final investment decision in 2027.
