GE Vernova T&D India emerged as the lowest bidder for a Power Grid Corporation of India project on September 7, 2026. The company leads the bid to design and build a 6,000 MW high-voltage direct-current transmission system.
The ±800 kV project will transport renewable energy from Barmer II in Rajasthan to South Kalamb. This corridor supports India's infrastructure strategy for moving renewable power to major consumption centers.
Shares of GE Vernova T&D India closed 1.17% higher on the NSE following the announcement. While L1 status marks a significant step, it does not guarantee the final contract award.
