Google and Blackstone formed a joint venture to create a new cloud platform powered by Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). Blackstone committed an initial $5 billion in equity to the partnership. The venture expects to bring 500MW of computing capacity online. This new infrastructure is slated to launch in 2027.

Google will provide the TPUs, software, and services for the new entity. Blackstone contributes its expertise in digital infrastructure to the collaboration. The partnership aims to address the rising global demand for advanced AI workloads. The deal was announced on May 19, 2026, at the Google I/O developer conference.
