Google broke ground on a major AI hub in Visakhapatnam, India, on April 28, 2026. The project anchors a $15 billion investment plan to develop a national AI ecosystem. Google intends to deploy this capital over the next five years to align with India's digital ambitions.

Google partnered with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel for the development. The facility will serve as India's first gigawatt-scale AI hub. The project includes the construction of three distinct data center campuses.

Google also introduced community initiatives focused on water stewardship in the Visakhapatnam region. A new program will provide specific support for local women-led micro-enterprises.
