Poland is advancing legislation to impose a 3% digital services tax on large technology companies.
The levy targets firms with annual global revenues exceeding €1 billion. Qualifying companies must also generate more than 25 million zlotys ($6.8 million) in Polish revenue. The tax applies to income from digital advertising, multisided platforms, and user data sales.
Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski confirmed the move despite potential US trade tariffs. Washington argues the tax unfairly discriminates against American corporations. Proponents claim the measure ensures fair competition between global giants and local firms.
