The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) launched a patent infringement investigation into Apple, Google, and Samsung. BoomCloud 360 Inc., a California-based audio technology firm, filed the initial complaint in August.
The complaint alleges the companies violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. The tech giants allegedly imported and sold electronic devices that infringe on BoomCloud's audio patents.
The investigation covers electronic devices featuring specific audio capabilities. BoomCloud 360 seeks a limited exclusion order to block infringing imports into the United States.
The company also requested cease and desist orders against the three firms. The ITC has not yet reached a decision on the merits of the case.
