Google plans to release its Gemini 3.8 Flash AI model as early as Wednesday, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new version, internally codenamed Skimaki, features significantly upgraded coding capabilities.
The release aims to narrow the gap with competitors OpenAI and Anthropic. Internal testing for the model began just weeks after the launch of its predecessor.
Google is also developing the more advanced Gemini 4 model. While early evaluations show positive results, the model requires additional training before its public release.
