Honeywell Aerospace is increasing development of defense products exempt from U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This strategic shift addresses rising European defense spending while bypassing potential U.S. export restrictions on sensitive technologies.
The company has assigned 1,000 engineers in Poland and the Czech Republic to design these ITAR-free systems. Honeywell Aerospace now operates as a standalone entity following its recent spin-off.
A new ITAR-free product for the international defense sector will debut at the upcoming Farnborough Airshow. This initiative leverages Honeywell’s 2024 acquisition of Italy-based Civitanavi to scale regional technologies.
