Netlist Inc. filed a patent infringement complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) against Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Micron, Supermicro, and Lenovo. The legal action alleges that DDR5 memory modules, specifically RDIMMs and MRDIMMs, infringe on four Netlist patents.
Netlist is requesting an exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order rather than seeking only monetary damages. These remedies would block the importation of products containing the disputed memory components into the United States.
A successful ruling could cause significant disruptions to HPE’s server and hardware supply chains. The complaint targets critical memory components used across the defendants' high-performance hardware portfolios.
