The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a rule change for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). This decision increases position and exercise limits for options from 250,000 to 1 million contracts. The expansion provides greater flexibility for large-scale institutional trading and hedging strategies. These structural changes aim to improve market depth and liquidity.

IBIT recorded $26.61 million in inflows on May 1. This performance reversed a three-day outflow trend for the broader Bitcoin ETF sector. In April 2026, spot Bitcoin ETFs reached record monthly inflows of nearly $2 billion. IBIT alone accounted for approximately $2 billion of that total.
