IonQ (NYSE: IONQ) joined the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) Heterogeneous Architectures for Quantum (HARQ) program. The selection validated the company's technical approach and sparked investor optimism.
The HARQ program develops systems that integrate distinct qubit technologies, such as trapped ions and superconducting qubits, into a single network. IonQ will develop quantum interconnects and memory technology using synthetic diamond-based systems. These components enable communication between different qubit platforms.
