Anthropic issued a request for proposal for at least 1.4 gigawatts of cloud capacity, according to The Australian Financial Review. IREN reportedly received the tender alongside operators including CDC Data Centers and NextDC.
Anthropic expects to reach a final decision in at least six weeks. The project may be split among multiple providers. This development aligns with IREN’s strategic shift from cryptocurrency mining to AI cloud infrastructure.
