JD.com reported a 53% year-over-year decline in net income for the first quarter of 2026. Net income for the period fell to ¥5.1 billion. Quarterly revenue increased 5% over the previous year. Total revenue reached ¥315.7 billion.

Rising costs in fulfillment, R&D, and marketing pressured the company's margins. JD.com also increased spending on its food delivery and local-services divisions.

The company is reportedly weighing a £2 billion takeover bid for UK retailer The Very Group. This potential acquisition aims to accelerate JD.com's expansion into the European market. JD.com has not officially confirmed the takeover reports.
