The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) launched a live production trial to tokenize traditional financial assets. Major firms including JPMorgan, BlackRock, and Goldman Sachs are participating in the initiative. The project converts securities such as stocks and ETFs into digital tokens on a blockchain.
Nearly 40 firms are testing use cases including collateral transfers and repo transactions. These digital assets retain the same legal rights as traditional securities. The trial tests the integration of blockchain technology with existing market infrastructure.
DTCC plans a full commercial launch of the tokenization service in October 2026. The platform aims to increase efficiency and liquidity across capital markets.
