JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup will partner with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in a $4.61 billion co-financing deal. This marks the first time U.S. banks have participated in the financing framework established under a U.S.-Japan strategic investment initiative.
Initial investments will fund natural gas power generation projects in Pennsylvania and Texas. The collaboration aims to support critical U.S. infrastructure for advanced industries and strengthen supply chain resilience between the two countries.
Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) will insure the loans from the private banks.
