JPMorgan Chase executive Lorna Hajdini filed a defamation countersuit against former colleague Chirayu Rana. The legal action follows Rana’s initial lawsuit accusing Hajdini of sexual assault and harassment, which gained significant social media attention.
Hajdini alleges Rana’s claims are fabricated and designed to extort millions of dollars from her and the bank. The countersuit further claims Rana has a history of making similar false accusations against a supervisor at a previous job.
JPMorgan expressed support for Hajdini, stating an internal investigation found no merit to the claims. The bank reported that Rana refused to cooperate with the probe. Rana’s original lawsuit contained graphic allegations of sexual abuse, coercion, and racial slurs.
