Lockheed Martin secured a U.S. government contract to integrate PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors with the Aegis Combat System.
This agreement marks the first time the U.S. Navy will incorporate this advanced air defense missile into its fleet. The Navy joins the U.S. Army and 16 partner nations that currently utilize the PAC-3 MSE.
The contract covers the development, integration, and testing of the system for naval operations. This integration enhances the Navyβs Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) capabilities against advanced threats.
Lockheed Martin previously used internal funding to begin integration with the MK41 Vertical Launching System. The new contract utilizes an existing framework to accelerate the production and delivery of these interceptors.
