Cheniere Energy Partners awarded a $4.69 billion engineering, procurement, and construction contract to Bechtel. This agreement funds the first phase of the Sabine Pass LNG expansion project in Louisiana.
Bechtel received a limited notice to begin early engineering and procurement work. The initial phase includes a seventh liquefaction train and a boil-off gas re-liquefaction unit.
The project will add over 6 million tonnes per annum of LNG production capacity. Cheniere targets a final investment decision by early 2027, pending regulatory approvals.
