Cheniere Energy is moving forward with a significant expansion of its Sabine Pass LNG facility, awarding three substantial contracts to energy technology company Baker Hughes. The awards, booked in the second quarter, include supplying liquefaction equipment for Train 7 and a boil-off gas re-liquefaction unit.
The new equipment and upgrades are expected to add over 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG production capacity to the facility. The deal also includes a four-year agreement for Baker Hughes to provide fleet-wide gas turbine technology upgrades to enhance power and efficiency across the facility's existing operations. In separate news, Cheniere announced it will release its second-quarter 2026 financial results on August 6, 2026.
