Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs approved a NT$9.835 billion ($310 million) investment by Lam Research into its local subsidiary. The capital will bolster research, development, and design for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
This project aligns with Lam’s five-year, multi-billion dollar global R&D expansion announced in August. The strategy aims to accelerate technological innovation for the AI era.
The investment strengthens Lam’s operations in Taiwan’s global semiconductor hub. It facilitates closer collaboration with regional clients on next-generation chipmaking technologies.
