Meta subsidiary Instagram launched a standalone application called Instants in Italy.
The platform focuses on disappearing photo sharing to facilitate private and spontaneous interactions.
This release follows regional testing of a similar feature previously titled Shots within the primary Instagram app.
Photos shared on Instants vanish immediately after being viewed.
The launch signals Meta’s strategy to attract younger demographics and compete with rivals Snapchat and BeReal.
Meta has not announced plans for a wider international rollout or a United States release.
