Meta is constructing portions of its new AI data centers using large, tent-like structures. These rapid deployment structures consist of weatherproof fabric supported by aluminum frames. The company is currently adding capacity to existing campuses, including the Prometheus facility in New Albany, Ohio.

Traditional data center construction typically requires 18 to 24 months to complete. Meta's strategy mirrors a 2018 Tesla tactic used to accelerate vehicle production. This approach allows the company to bring massive computing power online faster to remain competitive. The project belongs to a multi-billion dollar investment in the world's largest AI supercomputers.
