Meta Platforms signed a multi-year agreement to deploy tens of millions of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Graviton CPU cores. This deal establishes Meta as one of the largest customers for Amazon’s custom-designed silicon. The partnership focuses on powering agentic AI workloads that require complex reasoning and multi-step task orchestration.

AWS will host the chips within its existing infrastructure. The move diversifies Meta’s compute sources beyond traditional GPU-powered training. This shift highlights the growing importance of CPU-intensive tasks in advanced AI applications.

The agreement validates Amazon’s long-term investment in homegrown chip design. It also signals a broadening of the AI hardware market, which Nvidia currently dominates with its GPUs.
