Meta employees at multiple U.S. offices are protesting the recent installation of mouse-tracking software on corporate computers. Staff distributed flyers for an online petition against the technology, which they labeled the Employee Data Extraction Factory.

Employees argue the tracking violates their right to organize under the U.S. National Labor Relations Act. Workers expressed concerns that Meta is using their behavioral data to train AI systems intended to replace human staff.

The protest occurs shortly before a scheduled round of company-wide layoffs. Meta stated the software is necessary to provide AI models with real-world examples of computer usage to build new AI agents.
