The Pentagon awarded Scale AI a $500 million contract to enhance data analysis and decision-making. The Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office signed the agreement. This deal ranks among the Pentagon’s largest contracts with an AI-specialized firm.
The agreement marks a fivefold increase over previous funding levels. Scale AI previously received a $100 million contract in September 2025. Meta Platforms acquired a 49% stake in the startup in 2025.
The expansion signals an acceleration in the Department of Defense’s AI adoption strategy. Scale AI also participates in the Defense Innovation Unit’s Thunderforge program.
