China expanded trade restrictions against the United States on Monday.

The Ministry of Commerce placed 10 U.S. firms on an export control list. This list includes rare earth producer MP Materials and drone maker Teal Drones. These companies are now barred from receiving dual-use items from China.

The Ministry of Finance prohibited government agencies from purchasing products from 46 other U.S. companies. This ban targets major defense contractors including Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

Beijing issued these measures as direct retaliation for the U.S. expanding its own list of companies with alleged ties to the Chinese military.
