Microsoft is rolling out a significant update for its Edge browser on both desktop and mobile, integrating more powerful AI capabilities directly into the user experience and retiring the separate "Copilot Mode". The updated Copilot can now analyze information across all open tabs to compare data, summarize content, and provide more comprehensive answers without needing to switch between pages.
With user permission, Copilot can also leverage browsing history and past chats to deliver more personalized and relevant responses. The update introduces several new productivity tools, including a feature that can generate podcasts from a webpage's content, a "Study and Learn" mode that creates interactive quizzes and flashcards from articles, and an inline writing assistant to help draft or rewrite text directly on web pages. These features are now available in all markets where Copilot is supported.
