Microsoft generates $24.1B from OpenAI, fueling majority of AI sales

Microsoft generated $24.1 billion in revenue from its OpenAI partnership during the fiscal year ending in June.

This figure accounts for more than half of Microsoft's total AI-related sales. The partnership potentially contributes up to 70% of the company's overall AI revenue.

Payments include Azure cloud infrastructure fees, model development costs, and a share of OpenAI’s earnings. This revenue stream currently represents less than 10% of Microsoft's total annual revenue.
