Microsoft Israel General Manager Alon Haimovich has departed the company.

His exit follows an internal investigation into the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s use of the Azure cloud platform.

Global leadership launched the probe over concerns that the ministry violated Microsoft’s code of ethics and terms of use.

The investigation highlighted potential legal and regulatory risks for the company in Europe.

Several additional managers from the subsidiary’s governance department have also left the firm.

Microsoft has placed its Israeli operations under the direct management of Microsoft France.

The departures occur as the Ministry of Defense contract faces renewal at the end of 2024.
