Microsoft will launch its first Saudi Arabian cloud datacenter region in November 2026. The Saudi Arabia East region will operate in the Eastern Province. This facility will feature three Azure Availability Zones.
The infrastructure provides local data residency and low-latency access to cloud and artificial intelligence services. Microsoft announced the expansion at the LEAP 2026 technology conference in Riyadh. The project supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals for economic diversification.
The new region enables government and private sector organizations to deploy mission-critical workloads. These entities can scale AI applications while meeting local data handling requirements. Microsoft is also establishing a local Innovation Hub and an AI Center of Excellence.
