Microsoft is transitioning its Copilot Cowork enterprise AI tool to a usage-based pricing model as the service reaches general availability. This shift replaces the previous flat-rate subscription to provide businesses with greater flexibility and lower entry barriers.
The company is also considering hosting a version of DeepSeek, a model from a Chinese AI firm, to offer a more cost-effective alternative. This strategy aims to position Microsoft as a competitor on both price and performance within the enterprise AI market.
