Synopsys, Microsoft, and AMD launched new autonomous agentic AI workflows for chip design. The workflows are available for evaluation on the Microsoft Discovery platform. They automate and accelerate complex engineering tasks, from initial specification to final silicon. This initiative marks the first Electronic Design Automation (EDA) applications on Microsoft's platform.
The collaboration leverages Synopsys's AI tools, Microsoft's Azure cloud-scale compute power, and AMD's real-world application to enhance next-generation chip development. Early results show the new AI-powered debug workflow reduces cycle times by up to 40%. This can save weeks of engineering effort. AMD is actively evaluating these autonomous workflows for its future product development.
