AI researcher Lilian Weng is returning to OpenAI just days after announcing her departure from her startup, Thinking Machines Lab.
Weng cited health concerns and an intense work pace for exiting the venture she co-founded seven months ago.
She will now lead OpenAI’s recursive self-improvement team. This strategic project focuses on building AI models that can autonomously design and improve future, more advanced AI systems.
