Steve Cohen's Point72 Asset Management drastically reduced its holding in Microsoft Corp. during the second quarter of 2026, selling an estimated $119 million worth of stock. The firm's position was cut by over 91%, falling from 350,640 shares down to just 31,520 by the end of June.
This trade was disclosed in an August 14th SEC filing, which reflects portfolio changes made between April 1 and June 30. The sale effectively removes the tech giant as a meaningful position in the major fund's portfolio, reducing its weight from 0.17% to a mere 0.01%. Point72 has not publicly commented on its reasoning for the significant reduction.
