Nestlé India Ltd shares fell nearly 3% on June 12, 2026. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued a notice to the company following a social media complaint. A consumer alleged finding an insect inside a packet of Maggi instant noodles.
The FSSAI requested a detailed Action Taken Report covering quality control and testing records. This report must also include raw material sourcing to ensure product traceability.
The notice revived investor concerns regarding the 2015 Maggi ban and its subsequent financial impact. This current regulatory action remains a fact-finding exercise and does not establish wrongdoing at this stage.
