Events prediction market Kalshi has threatened legal action against Netflix, demanding the company take down the trailer for its upcoming documentary, "Instadocs: The Prediction Games." In a cease-and-desist letter, Kalshi alleges the trailer is defamatory and contains "fabricated documents and false and misleading statements."
The primary issue revolves around footage that appears to show traders using Kalshi to bet on the World Cup in Nevada, where the platform is under a court order to block sports-related markets. Netflix responded by stating that the trade shown in the trailer was a screenshot of a bet placed in May 2025, before the court order was in effect. Kalshi also alleged that a trade slip shown was "completely fabricated," possibly with AI, a claim Netflix denies.
