Netflix and AMC Global Media have agreed to a five-year, $500 million licensing deal for the entire "The Walking Dead" franchise. The agreement establishes a co-exclusive global streaming arrangement for all 371 episodes across the original series and its six spinoffs, which will be available on both Netflix and AMC+ starting in 2027.
Under the deal, Netflix expands its streaming rights for the franchise to new international territories, including the U.K., Italy, and Australia. For AMC, this provides a significant revenue source and allows the original series to stream on its own platform, AMC+, for the first time. The deal was announced alongside AMC's second-quarter earnings, where the company also raised its full-year financial guidance.
