Formentera Partners and its Australian operating company, Daly Waters Energy (DWE), began commissioning the first natural gas plant in Australia's Beetaloo Basin. The Sturt Plateau Compression Facility is the final infrastructure component for natural gas flow from the basin to the Northern Territory.
The plant operates as a 50/50 joint venture between DWE and Tamboran Resources. It boasts a capacity of 48.5 million cubic feet per day. A significant portion of its output is contracted to the Northern Territory government under a long-term, take-or-pay agreement. The commissioning signifies a major step in unlocking the Beetaloo Basin's potential as a reliable, long-term energy source for the region.
