Novo Nordisk tests Vivani’s semaglutide implant to replace weekly injections

Novo Nordisk partnered with Vivani Medical to evaluate NPM-139, an implantable device for delivering semaglutide.

The implant utilizes NanoPortal technology to offer a long-term alternative to Ozempic and Wegovy injections.

Vivani is preparing a Phase 1 first-in-human study to assess the safety and tolerability of the device compared to Wegovy.

Separately, Novo Nordisk updated the Singapore label for Wegovy to include weight loss data for non-diabetic adults.
