Anthropic has agreed to pay data center operator Nscale $45 billion for AI cloud computing power. The contract spans six years and secures the first of three buildings at Nscale’s Monarch campus in West Virginia.
The deal provides Anthropic with approximately 460 megawatts of power to scale its AI models. The facility will feature Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin chips. These chips are expected to come online late next year.
Microsoft previously signed a letter of intent for the site but withdrew earlier this summer. This exit allowed Anthropic to secure the computing capacity.
