U.K.-based startup Fractile raised $220 million in a Series B funding round. Factorial Funds, Accel, and Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund led the investment.
Founded in 2022, the company develops specialized hardware to accelerate AI inference. This technology aims to compete with industry leaders Nvidia and AMD.
The startup targets memory bandwidth limitations to resolve current speed and cost bottlenecks. Fractile claims its hardware can run AI models 25 times faster than existing systems.
The technology reportedly operates at one-tenth the cost of current hardware. Fractile plans to deliver its first commercial chips to customers by 2027.
