NVIDIA is in discussions to invest up to $3 billion in SB Energy, a subsidiary of SoftBank. This capital will support a massive data center campus in Ohio for OpenAI. The move marks a strategic shift for NVIDIA to secure AI infrastructure beyond chip manufacturing.

NVIDIA also reduced its potential financial backing for the Ohio project to under $120 billion. This revision represents a sharp decrease from the previously discussed $250 billion guarantee. The adjustment follows a 5% decline in NVIDIA shares after reports of the larger commitment surfaced. This smaller guarantee aims to mitigate investor concerns regarding the company's financial risk.
