Novo Nordisk launched the oral Wegovy pill in the United Arab Emirates on June 3, 2026. The UAE is the first country outside the United States to offer the weight-loss treatment in tablet form.
The Emirates Drug Establishment approved the once-daily medication earlier in the week. This oral format provides a convenient alternative to the existing injectable version.
Novo Nordisk will use the UAE launch as a template for future global rollouts. The company expects to expand into other select markets during the second half of 2026.
