Novo Nordisk released real-world data comparing Ozempic to Eli Lilly’s Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes.

The study analyzed patients already taking a 1 mg dose of Ozempic.

Findings presented at the American Diabetes Association’s 2026 Scientific Sessions showed increasing Ozempic to 2 mg provided comparable blood sugar control to switching to Mounjaro.

Approximately 75% of patients in both groups achieved an HbA1c level below 7%.

Patients who increased their Ozempic dose had a statistically higher likelihood of achieving at least 5% weight loss compared to those who switched to Mounjaro.

The evidence supports dose escalation as an effective strategy for patients currently using Ozempic.
