Novo Nordisk presented Phase 2 trial data for its investigational drug amycretin at the American Diabetes Association's 2026 Scientific Sessions.

The once-weekly subcutaneous injection achieved up to 14.6% weight loss in adults with type 2 diabetes. Patients also demonstrated significant blood sugar reduction over the 36-week study period.

Amycretin functions as a novel dual-agonist targeting both GLP-1 and amylin receptors. Novo Nordisk plans to advance the treatment into a Phase 3 development program in the second half of 2026.

Company shares declined following the report. Investors characterized the clinical updates from the conference as largely incremental.
