Shares of Omada Health surged 8.5% to $21.20 after the virtual chronic-care provider delivered its strongest quarter ever, pairing a blowout earnings beat with raised full-year targets — then surprised investors by announcing a CEO succession plan five months out.

• A Profit Milestone Changes the Investment Case. Omada posted record Q2 revenue of $88 million, up 43% year-over-year, with GAAP net income of $5 million — a swing from a $5 million loss a year ago — marking what CFO Steve Cook called the company's "most profitable quarter to date."

GAAP gross margin expanded to 73% from 66% in the prior year. For shareholders, this is the inflection point where growth-stage spending gives way to real profitability — and it happened faster than the Street expected.

• Raised Guidance Signals Confidence in the Back Half. Management lifted full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $334–$340 million (from $322–$330 million) and adjusted EBITDA guidance — a profit measure excluding certain non-cash costs — to $21–$27 million (from $14–$20 million). At the midpoint, EBITDA nearly doubled versus the prior target. Cost to serve declined over 10% year-over-year, driven by AI efficiencies, fueling a 700-basis-point gross margin expansion. That unit-economics improvement matters because it suggests each new member now costs meaningfully less to support.

• New Partnerships Widen the Pipeline. Omada broadened its deal with insurer HCSC, extending programs across Illinois, Oklahoma, and New Mexico — adding 1.5 million covered lives.

Because those programs are embedded at the benefit level, there's no downstream employer sales cycle, which should speed revenue contribution starting in the first half of 2027.

The company also deployed its new cholesterol program with one of the nation's largest retailers and closed its first prescribing-program customer, expected to generate revenue in 2027.

• A CEO Handoff Adds Uncertainty at a Pivotal Moment. Co-founder Sean Duffy will become Executive Chair on January 1, 2027, handing the CEO role to President Wei-Li Shao.

Duffy framed the move as the culmination of seven years of shared leadership. The timing — mid-profitability ramp, with an inaugural Investor Day set for September 10 — means Shao will own the long-term financial framework before he formally takes the title. Investors must decide whether continuity or disruption risk dominates. With roughly 59.4 million shares outstanding , today's price values Omada near $1.26 billion — about 3.7× midpoint 2026 revenue for a company still proving it can sustain both growth and margins simultaneously.
