The bipartisan House Committee on Veterans' Affairs subpoenaed Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and CEO Mike Sicilia. Lawmakers are demanding testimony regarding the company's electronic health records project for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Oracle inherited the contract through its 2022 acquisition of Cerner. The project was originally budgeted at $10 billion. Current estimates now place the total cost at nearly $27 billion.
The committee cited significant cost overruns and deployment delays as primary concerns. Lawmakers also highlighted ongoing performance issues and potential risks to patient safety.
