Blue Owl Capital co-founder Doug Ostrover is selling his remaining stake in the NFL’s Washington Commanders. The majority ownership group led by Josh Harris is purchasing the shares. Harris originally acquired the franchise for a record $6.05 billion. This transaction occurred in 2023. Ostrover began his divestment in 2025 and has now fully exited the team.

The sale follows a period of significant pressure for Blue Owl stock. Shares have declined more than 60% from their peak. This peak occurred in January 2025. The downturn coincides with broader turbulence across the private credit market.

Ostrover and co-founder Marc Lipschultz previously pledged significant company stock for personal loans. They have since revised these financial arrangements. Lipschultz reportedly maintains his ownership stake in the Commanders.
