The U.S. Commerce Department finalized a 109.10% countervailing duty on Russian unwrought palladium. This decision brings the total combined U.S. tariff to 241.93%. The figure includes a previously finalized 132.83% anti-dumping duty.
Domestic producer Sibanye-Stillwater backed the duties to shield U.S. operations from state-subsidized imports. The measures remain pending a final material injury ruling by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). The ITC recently rescheduled its final vote for May 29, 2026.
Palladium futures fell over 4% following the announcement. The metal traded near $1,358 per ounce. Russian producer Nornickel downplayed the long-term impact, citing global supply reallocation.
