Palo Alto Networks partners with OpenAI, shielding infrastructure from AI threats

Palo Alto Networks launched the Frontier AI Critical Defense Program to protect critical infrastructure. This initiative targets threats discovered and exploited by artificial intelligence.

The program addresses the gap between AI-driven vulnerability discovery and slow system patching cycles. It utilizes virtual patching to neutralize threats at the network level before exploitation.

Partners include OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, IBM, Siemens, and Mitsubishi. The initiative follows research where Palo Alto Networks identified over 14,000 previously unknown vulnerabilities using AI.
